Repeatable Capture With Less Operator Dependence
Automated scanning systems control part and scanner positioning so the same coverage can be repeated with less manual intervention. Depending on the application, that may use a multi-axis desktop system, a dedicated automated inspection platform, or a scanner integrated with a robot or cobot.
The value is not simply hands-free scanning. A useful automated system has to coordinate coverage, fixturing, measurement sequence, inspection software, reporting, and cycle time around the part and production requirement. CAMS supports standalone automated systems and can also develop custom scanning cells when the application needs a more specific integration.
Custom Automation & Integration
Many of the scanners CAMS supports can be integrated through SDKs, APIs, robotic interfaces, or dedicated positioning systems. For applications that do not fit an off-the-shelf cell, we can help define the measurement sequence, hardware layout, part presentation, and software flow around the required output.
Custom systems can range from simple repeatable positioning to production inspection cells that coordinate scanning, analysis, reporting, and part handling. The automation is built around the measurement task rather than adding a robot where it does not improve the process.
