From Scan Data to Engineering Geometry

A scanned mesh accurately represents the physical part, but it is not always the geometry an engineering team needs to work with. Reverse engineering software provides tools to align and clean scan data, extract features and sections, fit surfaces, rebuild parametric geometry, and create CAD that reflects the design intent of the part.

Different tools fit different workflows. Some focus on comprehensive scan-to-CAD reconstruction, some work inside an existing CAD environment, and others are better for mesh processing or accessible model conversion.
